To the left there is a menu for switching between different workspaces. Don't worry too much about the others; about 97% of all the work we do is in "Design." Of that work, virtually all of it is done using the "Solid" tools, so you shouldn't worry too much about the other tabs either.
Many of the tools will have descriptions if you mouse over them. Additionally, many tools are redundant (there are other ways to achieve the same result), and the vast majority of team CAD is done with only a few tools. Thus, I will only cover the tools that will be used most often.
